Suggestions on how to find when/where all business/association conferences are being held around the US?
I'm sure such a list exists "somewhere" and am willing to pay for it if it is all-inclusive. I am trying to find a list of professional conferences...all sizes and shapes...being held around the country going out at least one year...preferably longer. The purpose is to market specific services that meeting planners would be interested in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

- I don't think there would be one for ALL conferences, they would probably be listed by industry or subject. For instance Education Conferences, Scientific Conferences, Rug-Making Conferences, etc.
- I have seen one of those - it is a huge book with title something like 'business events guide' or something similar. They have it for past years where you can chose the ones that are held annually or also they have it for the current or the coming year. you better check in your national/state/provincial library for business or events catalogs. Also, there is a guide for journalists - something like what is coming this year - it is usually paid and it costs couple of hundred bucks. I'm really sorry for my terrible titles memory. hope it helps a little.
- The best resource is TSNN http://www.tsnn.com You can search by state, by industry, even by country (as they have international listings as well) to find conferences, trade shows, seminars and other events. Plus most of the information is free.
- A lot of places keep these things close to the chest. I don't know of any single list. I think you have to be more strategic and targeted. Either focus on a city or region or an industry/association sector. You can ask the local visitors and convention bureau if they have a list - they will have of the big ones, but most hotels won't share theirs, even with the convention bureau. So then you need to contact associations - start with those nearest you - to see where they're holding their local, national and international meetings. The big gatherings are again booking two-to-five years out.
